A ton of the info on Reddit is still relevant.

Imagine if all the people who solved niche problems did this. All the information and knowledge they dispersed was deleted because of a grudge against a platform.

That would suck so badly.

I refuse to install any app from the websites I use.

Reddit has been trying all kinds of tricks into getting me to install their app, just like most other websites.

I literally had to switch to desktop view every time, because it just wouldn’t allow me to use their mobile view, like wtf?

Lemmy is a breath of fresh air in that regard.

That is just because they see you as one of them.

Encounter them as a non-hexbear, and they will either bring up the most abrasive takes on communism, worship dictators like gods, or just shitpost because they know they can’t win.

Have a look how they treat other communities, and you’ll see what I mean.

Curation is personal and subjective.

This is what the big Social Media don’t get either.

What is horrendous to one user is a necessity to the other.

Reddit has echo chambers in the different subreddits, and they can be about as vicious or more than Lemmy instances.

The thing is that for those Warhammer hobbies, there are great Subreddits with like-minded people, from which you can get inspirations and opinions.

But I do agree some are spending more time on those subreddits rather than enjoying the hobby itself.

But the thing is that they aren’t formed by reading, unless you mean USSR propaganda pamphlets.

The straight up denial that Russia or China could do anything wrong is what gets me, same with the claim that Communism is in itself viable.

Communism is a fairy tale, just like the Free Market, for the exact same reason.

Reddit has a left wing bias, but also an American bias

It is mainly just Americans talking to other Americans about American things, without even acknowledging any other country exists, or when they do it is grouped together like “other countries”

We got some Hexbear toxicity, and some real Linux apologists.

But the fun thing about the fediverse is that you can just block those instances and be done with it.
