The ceo of slack replied to the person from the hacker club in a hacker news thread and cleared it up. They said it was a billing mistake and are continuing their original deal.

You know what, one mailbox is dangerously based. The idea of 3k employees working out of a single mailbox is so entertaining to me when I dont have to support it haha. It must have caused so many outlook crashes among other issues.

Congrats on the monthly costs i guess? What you pay in sending a guy down to replace a job you will pay 10x in monthly costs.

I can understand a move to cloud infra for a company as worldwide as stackoverflow but I dont think they make the revenue required to support it. They’re going to get squeezed by the increasing costs eventually.
