  • The joke is, ‘Oh you’ve been in cybersecurity for five years, what’s your addiction?’”

Shits sake if thats the running joke imagine trying to therapize yourself with coworkers bringing the invasive thoughts right back to the table

colleagues at his first security job sharing an affinity for the show “MAS*H"

    aw yes!

I don’t find this article all that discouraging, however there must be a human cost to this. There are gonna be colleagues who will need more social care and attention, and perhaps mental health services. Good to keep in mind!

  • This is cool too… but no I mean like literal person-made curation. I guess it would be like a subscription list, but you could share it? Like a template. And then the person it is shared to would have the list automatically installed to their account. They could circumvent some of or all of the discovery phase, skip using All and go straight to using Subscriptions. Or you could do it in smaller lego pieces like, hey I am interested in a new hobby and here is a short list of Communities related to that hobby, or even posts I ought to read through. What if you could send someone a list of Favorited posts as if it is like a Sticky at the top of a community, but better! And then they would have them all, quite conveniently saved.

  • This would be great! I find my instance’s curation (Local) is really good for my tastes (lots of memes and comfy content, not much news) buuut I’ve abandoned using All because News was really distracting for me. I also sorted by New rather than Hot/Top which did help find small posts. Bring that Local feel to the All tab!

However, I’d love to see more curation tools. Rather than algorithmic tools. Similar to a game reviewer saying here’s my top games of the year… here’s my top communities for this type of person. Hehe.
