Sysadmin@lemmy.world•Is classic Outlook becoming worse and worse?
4·10 months agoI’ve been doing this for 15 years daily now and it was never this bad. Not even when everyone ran Exchange on-prem with al the bullshit involved with that.

Sysadmin@lemmy.world•Is classic Outlook becoming worse and worse?
3·10 months agoSadly I’m still bound to classic Outlooks because of a lot of clients dependent on COM add-ins.

Sysadmin@lemmy.world•Exporting Sharepoint Online folder permissions to Excel.
1·2 years agoAs a followup, the function to generate these reports was in Sharepoint Online itself. Somewhat hidden/poorly named.

Sysadmin@lemmy.world•Getting Azure joined desktops with multiple users working.
1·3 years agoInteresting article but not really what we’re looking for:
This option is especially useful for computers with multiple users and for when you don't want executable files running from a user profile. Other than where the sync app is installed, the behavior is the same. It’s not the installation but the configuration that is causing trouble. FSLogix would require on-prem hardware.

Sysadmin@lemmy.world•Getting Azure joined desktops with multiple users working.
1·3 years agoWe were expecting the same and wishes MS just admitted this to us so we can go on.
We have no good mechanisms to deploy startup scripts and try to rely as much as possible on the best-practises Microsoft has. If we ever get those anyway…

Sysadmin@lemmy.world•Are we the only shop with constant login bullshit on Office 365 desktop apps?
1·3 years agoWe had this a lot during Covid where people just registered free Teams accounts with their work e-mail adresses. These environments are super small so I will check it out to be sure!
Thanks for taking the time to reply!

Sysadmin@lemmy.world•Are we the only shop with constant login bullshit on Office 365 desktop apps?
2·3 years agoThanks for you insight, your environment sounds ways more complex but then again, miles better configured.
After some research it now seems to point to a registry cleaning script used to clean up bizarre amounts of entries created by certain printer drivers that were added each time a user logs on or off.
We aren’t sure yet since it can easily not happen for a few weeks out of itself but fingers crossed!
Thanks for taking the time to respond as I have should way faster…

Sysadmin@lemmy.world•Are we the only shop with constant login bullshit on Office 365 desktop apps?
1·3 years agoNo sorry, we use the same config across the board so that wouldnt explain the randomness. Ill look into it though.
There is no simply moving here sadly, the plugins simply aren’t available. Hooray for vendor lock-ins.
