I kind of wish there was a way to “forward” your community if you realize someone else is doing a better job in a different instance too. So essentially all your users and traffic would just redirect to the other instance from that point on.

I am subscribed to like 3 different printsf communities and only one is even halfway active at this point. Would be nice if there was a way to consolidate under one banner.

I kind of feel like karma is pretty much a part of the link aggregator style site’s core usefulness. It’s a quick nod to figuring out if an account is generally well thought of or not and my immediate instinct would pretty much be to block people hiding their karma on here, because it points to an unwillingness to participate in the core voting and being voted on idea.

At the very least, I wouldn’t want accounts that opt out of displaying karma to be able to vote on anything either. All in or stand on the sidelines and watch IMHO.

Because Eugen has been working on Mastodon much longer. It’s a lot more mature and it had time to get a bunch of real world testing, not to mention withstand some DOS attacks, some hateful trolls, etc etc.

So pretty much every aspect was more mature and easier to use when people started jumping to the lifeboats from Twitter. Lemmy is cool and it’s getting there, but it’s got a ways to go for sure. (The lack of RES hotkeys to navigate, vote, open and close pics, follow links, jump between all and subscribed is purely torture to me at this point!)
