Totally agree. It also happens when a comment is removed and the whole tree of replies gets cut off at that point and is no longer viewable. It’s definitely technically feasible because admins can still see removed posts/comments and all the replies, so I would imagine it’s just a matter of time until the developers can get around to implementing that functionality for normal users.

Yeah I am amazed by the personal interactions and connections that I’ve formed here, they’ve been the most rewarding part of Lemmy for me. There is not a single redditor who would recognize my reddit account after 10+ years on the platform, but I’m sure there’s a good number of Lemmings who already recognize me, and indeed know me, or at least the personality I express online.

Treasure these times, because someday Lemmy will outgrow this phase if we start getting much larger.

Haha you’re preaching to the choir, the idea of federation has taken over my thinking a little bit. It’s like those people who want to put everything on the blockchain, except I want to federate every hierarchical structure that exists 😅

I never even moderated anything before Lemmy, but it really hasn’t been that bad. It helps so much to have other good users/mods to lean on, and to have faith that the platform is steadily getting better with time.

It’s way less bullshit than reddit was, and I’d rather be shit on by principled leftists anyway.

I won’t lie, I did get a bit down after the hexbear federation saga, but I feel like I’m starting to get my mojo back. When I see other users and developers building things like fediseer, it renews my motivation and refreshes my attitude. Infectious positivity, what a concept!
