Lemmy@lemmy.ml•What is your favorite way to browse lemmy?English
1·10 months agoRSS feeds and then Ironfox or Jerboa depending on whether I want to use Firefox addons.
Sometimes Lemmy posts even appear inconstently in hashtag RSS feeds on Mastodon and its forks. It seems like it should be entirely possible for there to be cross-posting to Lemmy by @ing a community, but it isn’t consistent, and sometimes a bug occurs where if person B replies to person A and person C replies to B, A won’t see C’s comment.
Ideally I would just like to interact with this community through microblogging. This is what app the apps and forks e.g. mbin miss. The platforms should be the same

5·10 months agoThe meaning is closer to “it would not be in your best interest, and you could never hold yourself to it” than “you do not desire it in the abstract”
Depending on how literal you are with “let people send ANYTHING over tor 🐒🔨😃🤜🤛😀💰” I’m downright uncomfortable with this whole concept

Lemmy@lemmy.ml•First time posting here — how does Lemmy feel compared to Reddit for you?English
2·10 months agoOh I missed which instance you’re on. World is basically for people who miss reddit. I only vouch for the rules on this particular instance. Which are stict, but fair. Lemmygrad and Hexbear will ban you no matter what if you disagree with a regular or mod. Same with World or the 500 other liberal ones. Good luck. ☺️
I used to look down on the whole debate & logic thing since I flirted with American policy debate in high school, which is disgusting game for charlatans. However eventually I realized that the issue was bad premises, me being too rude to people, and that nobody explained logic to me until I was studying comp eng 🫠
Be passionate about logic, self-critical, and kind. Then you never have to hesitate before striking a man down.

21·10 months agoIt’s great I come here to argue with people until I am forced to assign myself homework. Reddit just bans you over and over unless you are 100% chungus at all times.

1·10 months agoThe way you use the internet is called being a “reply guy” - major websites treat you as a problem to be engineered out. In addition, you can only use one app on your phone at a time.

1·10 months agoYes yes, using the share button is also annoying because then you have two Jerboa windows open.

Lemmy@lemmy.ml•How can I view the comments/posts I downvoted?English
2·11 months agoOh nice, that was actually the main reason I used them on Reddit. It sends everything you vote on or save to various RSS feeds.

I already know about Lemvotes and I already know about how to find the votes on Lemmy, such as by using Mastodon and stuff) through other means, just find it tedious. The site UI should give them to me in the app
