Yeah sorry I must have skimmed right over that. This is only possible backing up everything and reusing all the data while also using the same domain. When I upgraded servers I just cloned the drives then swapped my domains to the new IP.

Scroll to the bottom of your settings page in the Lemmy UI. The import/export settings are there.

There’s already a number of groups on matrix for us admins/devs/users.

Well you don’t have many posts so it was easy to look at real quick and there was only one person that downvoted you more than once.

Well us admins can see every upvote/downvote now so if there’s posts in question we can compare those and figure that out fairly quickly.

It’s built in to the latest releases. Scroll down to the bottom of your user settings and there’s a new import/export option.

Can’t say I necessarily disagree with most of what they said. The same things have also been said right here on lemmy. I don’t see their point though as they’re just describing anonymous unfiltered social media as a whole really.

It’s what’s active in each instance. If they’re empty that means that instance isn’t creating any content. It’s also easily ignored. Different apps seem to handle this in different ways too and show completely different “trending” communities. Some handling it better than others. Also, if you’re the first one from your instance to visit the community… they’re going to appear empty. Subscribe to aggregate more activity.

The main reason is that no one is posting them and that’s really it. The hosting isn’t the problem as there’s plenty of free third party hosts when the instance doesn’t allow enough space for uploads. Reddit was basically imgur as a host for the longest time.

Slow, no, but there’s definitely some bugs and weird little quirks. We’re not even at a version 1 release yet.

I imagine in the future it could be possible with some sort of toggle in the settings but kbin just has or is about to release what’s necessary to even create an app.

It looks good and works quite well especially in the newer pure black theme.
